Myles Van Patten was awarded the Duane Sunderman Memorial Award. The Erich W. Lehmann Memorial Award was awarded to Devin Dunkel.

“The Sunderman award is provided to a student with a personal interest in working on helicopters. Eligible students must be enrolled in the second block of training and show particular promise through both practical and theoretical work. The Sunderman award was endowed in the memory of Duane Sunderman, a graduate of the AME program who died tragically in a helicopter accident in 1995.

The Erich W. Lehmann award is provided to a student who demonstrates high achievement in the practical skills of AME together with a dedication to safety and professionalism in the workplace. The award is in memory of Erich Lehmann who was fatally injured in an industrial accident at the age of 19. Lehmann’s dream was to have a career in the field of helicopters.”
