Two Grande Prairie residents charged after 18 stolen vehicles found last month

GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Two Grande Prairie residents are facing a total of eight charges after 18 stolen vehicles were found by police last month.

On November 22nd, the Grande Prairie RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in Richmond Hill Estates where they recovered 18 vehicles from the property, including eight motorcycles, three trailers, and a snowmobile. Multiple tools were also recovered. On Wednesday and Thursday, the RCMP County arrested a man and a woman in relation to the case.

30 year-old Tara MacDonald and 32 year-old Justin Murphy of Grande Prairie have both been charged with:

  • Five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking

MacDonald was released on her own recognizance, while Murphy remains in police custody. The pair are set to appear in a Grande Prairie courtroom on December 14th.
