Don’t forget: Property tax deadline is fast approaching

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Property Tax deadline day is fast approaching (July 4 to be exact) and if you don’t pay by Tuesday, you will have a bigger bill in the end.

If your mortgage company pays your taxes for you, The City says while this is handy, you will still have to make a trip to City Hall to claim your homeowner grant. This would be the bottom portion of your bill, according to the City.

Communications Coordinator Julie Rodgers says if you don’t pay at the end of the day on the 4th, you will be charged a 10% penalty on the bill.

If you haven’t received your City tax notice, contact City Hall at (250) 787-8150.
