VICTORIA, B.C. – The non-confidence motion passed Thursday in Victoria. Premier Christy Clark will now meet with Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon and tender her resignation. What will happen after that remains to be seen.
The non-confidence motion that was tabled by BC NDP Leader John Horgan, and seconded by BC Green member Sonia Furstenau, has passed by a vote of 44 to 42. Guichon will have the decision of either allowing BC NDP Leader John Horgan to be Premier and form government with the BC Green minority deal that was reached, or she could call a snap election which would send British Columbians back to the polls.
