Alaska Highway Road Show hits Fort St. John tomorrow

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Alaska Highway Road Show will be stopping at the North Peace Cultural Centre on Saturday evening.

The show, which is aimed at celebrating the 75th birthday of the Alaska Highway, launched earlier in July in Alberta and will also take place in British Columbia.

The show is in Dawson Creek on Friday night and will be in Fort St. John on Saturday. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. with a pre-show and reception at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 plus fees and can be purchased online at npcc.bc.ca, at the box office or at the door the night of the show.

The show is a mixture of stories, songs, old photos and artifacts about the Alcan.

“We’ve got everything from trucker anecdotes, to funny roadtrip memories, to stories about the First Nations and how their lives changed with the coming of the Highway.”
