City of Fort St. John applying for NDIT grants for numerous projects

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John is applying for grants from the Northern Development Initiative Trust for numerous projects.

At a Council Meeting on Monday, Council was asked to provide letters of support for the following grant applications:

  • Up to $30,000 for the Matthews Park Washrooms from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the Skate Park Washrooms from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the North Peace Arena Bleacher Heaters from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the North Peace Arena De-Hi Unit Replacement from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the Kids Arena Field House HVAC Upgrades from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the North Peace Cultural Centre/Art Gallery HVAC Upgrades from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the Curling Club Roof Replacement from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the Curling Club Compressor-Condensor Replacement from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program
  • Up to $30,000 for the North Peace Arena Board and Glass Replacement from the Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Community Halls and Recreation Facilities Funding Program

The projects had been approved in the 2017 Capital Budget C2 category.

Fort St. John Council passed the motion and will provide letters of support to support the applications being sent.
