Fort St. John ranks 160th on Canada’s Best Places to Live 2017: Money Sense

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – According to Money Sense, The City of Fort St. John has been ranked the 160th best place to live in Canada for 2017. That is a tumble down from 61st in 2016.

Population is currently estimated to be 20,528 people.

The Median Household Income was reported to be $112,293 while the average Value of Primary Real Estate is $375, 448. Average rent totalled $1,057. Owned Homes sit at 60.2% while Rented Homes are 39.8%.

The Money Sense figures also show that per 1,000 people, there are only 1.1 Doctors.

But both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John ranked highly in the Best Places for Taxes category. Dawson Creek was third with a Average Property Tax as a % of Income at 1.25%. Fort St. John was ranked fourth at 1.23%. The property tax percent for Dawson Creek was tallied at 1.10% and Fort St. John was at 1.01%.
