Gymnastics Association preparing for September reopening

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Gymnastics Association says that renovations are progressing on their new location, and that the club should be fully reopened by September.

The Gymnastics Association’s Club Manager Chantelle Yates said that work crews have completed the foam pit and trampoline pit, as well as support columns to support the roof of the building, which is at the former MAXX Fitness on 95th Ave. The building, which is owned by Epscan, needed to have load-bearing interior walls torn down so that the space could be opened up for the gymnasts’ needs.

Yates said that since there were several unforeseen delays in construction earlier this Spring, the Association has had to push back plans to reopen at their new location from July 1st. She added however that the new columns and pits mark major milestones in construction, and that the building should be ready for the gymnastics season to start in the fall.
