FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – According to an article by JWN, oil and gas producers in B.C. are remaining hopeful that things will continue to run smoothly with a BC NDP government set to hold power.

Horgan and BC Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver, reached an agreement that will have them support the BC NDP. They also ended the run of the BC Liberals 16 years in power.

CEO of Tourmaline Oil Corporation Mike Rose recently told a conference that they have no plans to change spending, as nothing in B.C. has actually currently changed. Rose added that from what they have heard, BC NDP Leader John Horgan is pro-jobs and pro-LNG, something Horgan told Energeticcity.ca recently.

ARC Resources CEO Myron Stadnyk also told the same conference that he believes Horgan will remain committed to oil and gas, as he toured their fields during the election four years ago. Stadnyk said Horgan ‘understands our industry’.

Fort St. John Mayor Lori Ackerman also recently extended an invitation to Horgan and his Caucus to visit northeast B.C., to see how things operate as well as meet with citizens.
