TAYLOR, B.C. — The Peace Country River Rats will be hosting their annual poker rally this Saturday at the Peace Island boat launch in Taylor.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with a breakfast, followed by registration at 9:00, and a 10:00 a.m. start. The poker rally will see contestants travelling up the Pine River by jet boat to ‘Happy Hour Corner,’ attempting to build the best poker hand. The event promises to be fun for the whole family, with kids activities including face-painting. In addition, the club will have a dinner after the poker run.

The event is open to the public, including non-members of the River Rats club. Hands are $25 each, or five for $100. All the money raised from the Poker Rally goes right back into the club, which uses the money to maintain and improve the Peace Island Park boat launch.

For more information on the event, check out the Peace Country River Rats Facebook page.
