FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Property Tax deadline day in Fort St. John is no longer fast approaching, its here.
The City of Fort St. John says that the deadline to pay property taxes is Tuesday, July 4th. If you don’t pay your taxes today, you’ll end up with an extra amount on your bill.
The City says that if your mortgage company pays your taxes for you, while this is handy, you will still have to make a trip to City Hall to claim your homeowner grant. According to the City, that amount is located in the bottom portion of your property tax bill.
Communications Coordinator Julie Rogers says if you don’t pay at the end of the day on the 4th, you will be charged a 10% penalty on the bill.
If you haven’t received your City tax notice, contact City Hall at (250) 787-8150.
