FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fivestar Mixed Martial Arts fighters hosted a fundraiser to pay for expenses for the upcoming Provincials, training camps and Nationals this past weekend.

The fundraiser was hosted by the kids and featured out of town clubs coming into spar with all of FSJ’s boxing athletes, 50/50 draws, cash donations at the door and sponsorship opportunities.

The event was put on to support amateur fighters Nick Young, Brayden Sims, Lincoln Pomeroy and Nick Dragojevich.

“We had about 100 people show up,” said owner Justin Donnally. “We had some sparing between six-year-olds to the pro boxing level entertain the audience. The kids, by the sounds of it, easily surpassed their goal which was a couple thousand dollars to cover all expenditures for their upcoming travels including Provincials and hopefully Nationals.”

Next up for the boxers is a trip to Vancouver for Provincials which takes place from February 8th to 11th.
