FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies are set for a tripleheader this weekend with one game on home ice and two on the road.
Up first for the Pups is a visit from the North Peace Navigators whom the team defeated 1-0 in overtime last weekend for their twentieth win of the season. On Saturday the team hits the road for Beaverlodge to play the last place Blades, followed by a date with the NWJHL leading Dawson Creek Jr Canucks on Sunday.
The Huskies head into the matchups with 40 points good enough for second place in league standings, three behind the Jr. Canucks but have four games in hand.
“It’s going to be a ride, big weekend against some really good teams,” said General Manager Jeremy Clothier. “I just hope that we can play with the same energy that we have had for the past five periods of hockey. If we can stay focused on the task at hand and play to our strengths we will have a successful weekend.”
Friday and Saturday’s affairs with the Navigators and Beaverlodge respectively get underway at 8:00 p.m. Sunday’s affair with the first place Jr. Canucks starts at 1:30 p.m.
