BEAVERLODGE, A.B. – The RCMP are investigating a serious collision on Highway 43 near Beaverlodge that happened shortly after 7 p.m. Friday.

The RCMP say a semi was turning southbound on Highway 43 and was struck from behind by a southbound passenger car.  The car then entered the northbound lanes of Highway 43 and was hit by a pickup trucking.

The driver of the passenger car was taken from the scene by ground ambulance in critical condition.

The highway was closed for approximately five hours while the police investigated.

In a press release, the RCMP said, “All possible contributing factors related to this collision are being considered, and the collision remains under investigation.”
