FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – People are being warned of an imposter claiming to be with the Fort St. John Minor Hockey Association asking for donations.

The individual is reportedly asking for around $300 for a fundraiser for a hockey tournament followed by seeking a money transfer over the phone.

“I think it’s a scam,” said Fort St. John Minor Hockey Association director Trudy Alexander. “We don’t know of anyone going around asking for money. If there is any donation it’s always made out by cheque to FSJ Minor Hockey. We don’t take or ask for e-transfers or credit card info.”
