UPDATE: Yellowhead Road and Bridge Foreman Colin McDonald says that welders were able to complete all emergency repairs to the Taylor Bridge on Wednesday night. McDonald says that there will not be any welding taking place on February 1st and 2nd.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Yellowhead Road and Bridge will be performing emergency welding repairs on the Taylor Bridge starting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The emergency repairs will take place until 1:00 a.m.Thursday, and again between 7:00 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Motorists are advised that the work could cause delays of up 20 minutes in each direction, as the bridge will be reduced to single lane-alternating traffic.

A pilot vehicle and traffic control will be in place to divert traffic. Drivers are advised to use caution while on the bridge as there will be personnel and equipment working.
