FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. –  The Bert Bowes Middle School Basketball teams were in Edmonton for the Riverbend Jr. High Centurion Classic this past weekend.

The Boys and Girls Basketball teams consisting of Grade 9 students, played Friday afternoon as the girls won 40-28 over Michael Phair out of Edmonton while the boys beat the same team in overtime in a nail-biter 49-46. On Saturday morning the boys lost a close one 58-50 versus the F. R. Haythorne out of Edmonton while the girls lost to Ecole Leduc 48-38. Gryphon Talbot and Josie Lawlor were named tournament All-stars.
