FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John will be hosting a public drop-in session and official public meeting next Tuesday to hear from residents on the City’s 2018 Capital and Operating Budgets.

The City previously released a draft copy of its upcoming Capital Budget in early November, which was approved in principle by City Council last month. The City’s General Manager of Corporate Services David Joy also unveiled the City’s draft Operating Budget, which pays for the day-to-day running of the City, last month. In that presentation, Joy unveiled that the City would be hiking property tax rates slightly this year after property values fell by roughly five percent in the last year.

The public budget drop-in is taking place at City Hall on Tuesday, February 13th and 5:00 p.m., with the public meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.
