TAYLOR, B.C. – District Council has recently received complaints from the public regarding maintenance issues at the Taylor District Ice Centre.

The complaints included issues such as gaps in boards, latches that were broken on doors and skate mats needing to be replaced.

“Currently, inspections are done twice a week bi-weekly,” said Councillor Betty Ponto. “We talked about whether that is enough or do we need to introduce an overall maintenance or standardization plan to eliminate subjectivity. If you and I are looking at the same thing we are reporting it the same way.”

Council has asked staff to work with the Taylor Minor Hockey Association and the individual who issued the complaints to fix the problems down the road.
