UPDATE: DriveBC.ca is reporting that Highway 97 has reopened in both directions. CKPG News is reporting that the road was closed during firefighting efforts after a fire broke out at the Windy Point gas station.

MACKENZIE, B.C. — Highway 97 is closed south of Mackenzie because of a police incident.

According to DriveBC.ca, the incident has the Hart Highway closed in both directions three kilometres south of the junction with Highway 39 south of Mackenzie. DriveBC.ca says there is no detour available, and no estimated time for the road to reopen as an assessment is currently in progress.
