Men’s Rec Hockey League playoffs in full swing

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort John Men’s Hockey League is in the second week of their post-season.

The league consists of 13 teams spread out in an A, B, and C side with five teams in the A side and four in the other two.

Currently, in the A side, Rig Ratz has stayed perfect with a 3-0 record and leads the pool by four points after beating Jiffy Lube 7-6 on Wednesday night. Side B has Epscan leading the pool with a 2-0-1 record, as they beat the Fraction Falcons 5-2 this week. While in the C side, D&T Disposals have won both their games and sit atop the pool with four points after edging Viper 5-3 two nights ago.

League President Mike Hamre added,

“The A-side is insanely tight. All the games played so far could have gone in any of the team’s favour. B side Epscan is leading the pack and still the favourite to take down the division. C side D and T Disposals is controlling so far. All games have had a good amount of intensity along with a fair play between teams. Should be a good finish over the next 2-3 weeks.”

In action tonight, Big Horn clashes with Puckhunters in the A side playoffs at 9:15 p.m. The B and C side teams hit the ice on Saturday as the Faction Falcons meet DRS at 8:30 p.m. while the Vipers and FSJ Tropics get underway at 8:45 p.m.
