Mounties investigating suspicious fire at Chelsea’s Hair Studio

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at Chelsea’s Hair Studio and Spa late Sunday evening.

Fort St. John Deputy Fire Chief Darrell Blades said fire crews were called out to a report of a fire at the hair salon at around 10:00 p.m. Sunday. He said that upon arrival crews discovered that a fire was burning in a storage room inside the business.

After the fire was extinguished, Blades said that a preliminary investigation deemed the fire to be suspicious in nature, and therefore fire crews called in the RCMP. Sgt. Dave Tyreman said that police are investigating, but was not able to disclose anything further about the incident.

The business posted to their Facebook page on Tuesday that they were closed for emergency maintenance.
