Mounties looking for suspect after stabbing in Grande Prairie

GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. — The Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a male suspect involved in an early morning Valentine’s Day stabbing.

Sometime between midnight and 1:00 a.m. on February 14th, police were called out to a complaint of an assault in the Ranchlands area. Two men had been having a conversation in an alley near Prairie Road when the conversation apparently turned hostile, and they began to fight.

One man was subsequently stabbed in the abdomen, while the other fled. The 28-year-old victim has since been treated and released from hospital.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, standing between 5’9″ and 5’10” tall. The man was wearing a grey jacket, black backpack, and possibly had a beard.
