NPSS Basketball teams have a successful weekend, advance to Provincials

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – North Peace Secondary School’s Basketball teams were busy this past weekend.

The Senior Boys and Girls were in Beaverlodge where the boys claimed first place, while the girls finished in third overall. Both teams secured a spot in Provincials in early March.

While the Junior Boys and Girls competed at home where they were victorious. The girls went undefeated and are off to Prince George for the Northern Zones on Thursday. The boys won a nail-biter over Dawson Creek 48-47 with a pair of last-second free throws in the semi-finals as they would go on to win the tournament.

The Junior and Senior Girls teams travel to Worsley on Wednesday for warm-up matches with their northern Alberta competition they will face in Provincials.
