DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – North Peace Secondary School students competed at the regional skills competition in Dawson Creek last weekend.

Fifteen students took part in a variety of events and bagged 15 medals including Chinazom Akueqbu capturing the gold in Job Search. Megan Sowers won the gold in Hairdressing, while Rikki Langenhoff and Rhylie Volz tied for second place.

Workplace Safety was won by Katrina Kimmie, Tyler Kitt picked up the silver and Jacob McInnis took home the bronze. Liam Stregger and Jacob VanVolkenburg each brought home the gold in Robotics, with the silver medal going to Ninaad Rathod and Xinkai Xu.

Community Interviews with Moose FM


Wyatt Stewart was first overall in the Electrical Wiring Secondary School Division. Erica Thomas-Schulenburg won the gold in Public Speaking, the bronze went to Marika Maris. Lukas Rehburg was third overall in the Electrical Wiring in the Post Secondary category.

All six gold medal winners will be representing the North at the B.C. skills competition in Abbotsford in April.
