FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Sunrise Rotary Club of Fort St. John raised close to $20,000 for two of the club’s major fundraising efforts at its Evening Under The Stars over the weekend.
Over 140 attendees packed the ballroom at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday evening for the annual event. Rotary Club spokesperson Kim Van said the fundraiser featured dinner, a live and silent auction, and live music courtesy of local band Dump Truck.
According to Van, the Rotary Club said that according to preliminary totals, the club brought in over $20,000 at one of its larger events of the year. She added that the club will be putting the proceeds locally towards upgrades and renovations to the Rotary Spray Park, and internationally to the club’s Eradicate Polio initiative.
Van added that the Club extends thanks to all attendees, sponsors, and donors that made the event a possibility.
