Speed skaters headed to Quebec City for Long Track Championships

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Elks Speed Skating Club members are preparing for the Canadian Age Class Long Track Championship event this weekend.

The B.C. Speed Skating Association selected 22 athletes to represent the province, seven of which were chosen from the Energetic City based on their performances at Provincials in late January.

The age-restricted event will have a Girls age group which consists of competitors between eleven to fourteen years of age and will feature Emma North, Hannah North, Brooke Braun and Sidney Bennie. In the Boys category, which will see participants within the age group of twelve to fifteen, speed skaters Nicholas Guilov, Nyam Newlove and Joshua Telizyn will represent Fort St. John.

The event takes place on February 10th and 11th in Quebec City.
