Trackers hit the road to Whitecourt for double date with Wolverines

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – The Northeast B.C./Yukon Trackers hit the road for the two-game series with the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The Trackers are coming off a tie with the Grande Prairie Athletic Storm last weekend, leaving them tied with the Peace River Royals for first overall in the Bouchier Division standings with 39 points, but have one game in hand.

“Big weekend for us to get back on track after last weekends tie against Grande Prairie,” said head coach Gerard Dicaire. “Whitecourt came up here and played two tough games so we are expecting the same down there. In regards to the standings and preparation towards the playoffs and provincials we have to take a step forward and not look back.”

The bench boss will have to shuffle his lines as the top scorer on his team and in The Northern Alberta Hockey League was called up to the WHL.

“There will be some ice time to fill with Connor Bowie being called up to the Prince George Cougars,” added Dicaire. “We will be looking for guys to step up and take advantage of an opportunity.”

After the road trip to Whitecourt, the team finishes off the regular season with two games at home versus the Lakeland Panthers and St. Albert Blues.

Saturday’s clash with the Wolverines gets underway at 3:15 p.m. while Sunday’s affair starts at 1:00 p.m. Both games can be watched on the Trackers Ustream page: www.ustream.tv/channel/nebctrackers
