PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Officials are advising residents to postpone any travel plans on roads in the Central Interior today due to a major snowstorm.

Officials with DriveBC have issued travel advisories on many stretches of Highway 97 and Highway 16, saying that non-essential travel should be avoided until weather conditions improve.

Cpl. Craig Douglass with the Prince George RCMP said drivers are also being reminded to pull over for emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens activated, saying that emergency personnel are having to respond to more calls because of the treacherous road conditions.
