Tumbler Ridge RCMP looking for would-be vehicle thief

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — The Tumbler Ridge RCMP are asking members of the public for help in tracking down a would-be vehicle thief.

North District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said police responded to reports of attempted vehicle theft in the Front Street area of Tumbler Ridge on several occasions in January. Several vehicles sustained damage in the thieves’ break-in attempts, though the vehicles themselves were not able to be moved.

Cpl. Saunderson explained that for the past month, officers combed over video surveillance footage that was in use in the area, but the footage was not able to generate any leads in the case.

The RCMP are now asking anyone with information on the attempted vehicle thefts to call the Tumbler Ridge RCMP at 250 242-5252 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477 (TIPS).
