FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Blackhawks female hockey team is hosting a fundraiser at Casey’s Pub in mid-March.

The team is raising money to represent the north at a hockey tournament in Whistler in May.

“It’s a team we are throwing together mainly from the [North Peace] Eagles, said team member Marissa Jordan. “We have some players from Slave Lake, out east, Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. The tournament has trouble finding teams each year to keep it going, so we wanted to put a team together for it.”

The Beer and Burger event will take place at Casey’s Pub on March 14th at 7:00 p.m. Anyone in attendance will also have the opportunity to win a number of prizes.

To purchase tickets, which are $20 in advance, contact Shayla at 250-720-5613.
