Progress Energy compressor sale to see increased truck traffic on Airport Road

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Progress Energy says that motorists on Airport Road might see an increase in truck traffic in the area of its yard over the next week after the company sold some surplus inventory.

A Progress Energy spokeswoman said the company sold a number of its older compressors to another company, with plans to purchase newer equipment in the near future. The spokeswoman said that the compressors are being disassembled at Progress’ yard across from the CN Rail yard, before begin trucked out of Fort St. John.

The spokeswoman added that the trucks are being staged in an area clear of traffic to avoid disruptions.
