Bantam Predators in Salmon Arm for Hockey Tournament


SALMON ARM, B.C. – The Northeast B.C. Bantam Predators female hockey team were in Salmon Arm for the Salmon Arm Bantam Hockey Tournament.

On Friday, February 8, for game one of the Tournament, the Bantam Predators took on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Despite falling 7-2 to the Silverbacks, the Predators played hard. Maria Ayre was made players pick for MVP, Jayden Storey was given the Heart & Hustle award, and Kennedy Punter received coaches pick for MVP.

Then on Saturday morning, the Bantam Predators faced the Northwest District. After a tough game, the Predators fell to Northwest District 6-4. Michelle Querin received coaches MVP, Bobbie Zimmer got the Heart & Hustle award, and Ava Lefferson received team MVP.

The next game was on Saturday afternoon where the Bantam Predators faced the Peewee Predators. The Peewee Predators swept the Bantams 5-1. Evann Potvin was selected the MVP, the Heart & Hustle Award went to Mercedes Beuckert, and Bobbie Zimmer was given team MVP.

On Sunday, the Bantam Predators took on Lacoka for the last game of the Tournament. It was a close game throughout but despite best efforts, the Predators fell 5-3 to Lacoka. Kennedy Punter was named MVP, Teneah Kimmie received the Heart & Hustle Award, and Maria Ayre was given team MVP.

Up next, the Bantam Predators are in Red Deer next weekend for the Red Deer Hockey Tournament.
