DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Northern Health has confirmed a fire happened early Sunday morning at the Dawson Creek Hospital.

The fire occurred in a utility area of the hospital, and damage was contained to a power source in that area. There was no damage to hospital infrastructure, and phones and power have been restored. Visitors to the hospital may notice an odour as the facility is still being ventilated.

The hospital’s emergency department, inpatient areas, oncology services, laboratory and medical imaging departments are fully operational. Patients can continue to access these services as they normally would.
