FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Tomorrow, February 20, marks one year until the B.C. 2020 Winter Games takes place in Fort St. John.

In March of 2017, it was announced that Fort St. John would be hosting the 2020 edition of the Winter Games.

A gathering to commemorate the one-year countdown will be taking place this Wednesday, February 20, from 5:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Park.

On hand for the Ceremony will be the B.C. 2020 Winter Games Board of Directors, City Council and alumni athletes from the B.C. and Canada Games.

This is the first time Fort St. John will be hosting the games since 1984.

According to Winter Games officials, the Games are expected to bring in approximately $1.6 million in revenue.

The B.C. 2020 Winter Games is taking place from February 20 to 23, 2020, in Fort St. John.
