FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Flyers are home tonight, Thursday, as they host the Grande Prairie Athletics for game two of the playoffs.
On Tuesday, the Flyers were down in Grande Prairie as they faced the Athletics for game one of the playoffs.
The Flyers struggled to score through most of the game, with Grande Prairie taking a 5-1 lead at one point during the third period.
Then at 9:40 into the third, the Flyers started to make a comeback as Adam Horst would score one with assists by Rick Cleaver and Jeff Shipton making the score 5-2.
The next Flyers goal would follow at 6:23 left in the period as Robbie Sidhu would score a goal with an assist by Brandon Pfeil making the score 5-3.
Then with 4:57 left in the game, Adam Horst would score his second goal of the night with a feed from Sam Brennan and Joey Massingham making the score 5-4 under the Athletics.
The Flyers would pull their goalie, at 1:51 remaining, in an effort to stay alive but it wasn’t enough as the time would soon expire.
In the end, the Flyers fell 5-4 to the Athletics.
The Flyers are looking to tie the series during game two of the playoffs tonight, Thursday, at the North Peace Arena. Puck drop is 8:30 p.m.
