Grande Prairie RCMP Lay Charges Following Search Warrant


GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – On January 2, 2019, Grande Prairie RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in a central location in the city after receiving information from the public about a possible drug house. RCMP searched the apartment and located various types of illegal drugs, items associated to drug use, and Canadian currency. The following items were seized as a result of the investigation;

  • $720.00 cash
  • 27 grams of methamphetamine in pill form
  • Approximately 0.3 grams of Heroin
  • 5 Fentanyl pills
  • Approximately 0.5 grams of Fentanyl powder

Kenneth LAVANWAY (48) is facing the following charges;

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x 3
  • Breach of conditional sentence order x 2

Mr. LAVANWAY is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Feb. 4, 2019.
