FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The North Peace BC SPCA wants to increase their membership numbers for 2019 and to do this they will be hosting a membership drive this February with the goal to recruit 30 new members.
The BC SPCA membership gives people the opportunity to get involved in contributing financially towards the well being of animals in the facilities care, voter eligibility on governance for the BC SPCA and the opportunity to join the Community Council and Fundraising Committee. The membership fee is also eligible for an income tax receipt.
“Becoming a member is a great way for people to show support for animals within the community, especially if they don’t have the time to volunteer”, says branch manager, Candace Buchamer. “We look forward to welcoming new members and continuing the important work of building a more humane community.”
To become a member, fill out a membership form at the North Peace BC SPCA, located at 9311 81 Ave, between 12 and 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The membership fee is $30 annually or a $350 one-time-fee for a lifetime membership.
From February 25th – March 3rd will be Treat Week, a provincially organized fundraiser that has expanded from the success of Cupcake Day, which saw companies and
individuals sell cupcakes with the proceeds going towards the BC SPCA.
