GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – The RCMP are investigating after one man died in hospital following an incident near 100 avenue and 92 street in Grande Prairie.
On February 16, 2019, at approximately 5:00 p.m., RCMP and Emergency Services were called to a report of an altercation in the area of 100 Avenue and 92 Street.
On arrival, a male victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. A 31-year-old male suspect was arrested at the scene and remains in custody awaiting a judicial interim release hearing.

Unfortunately, the 48-year-old male victim died of his injuries at hospital a short time later.
RCMP Major Crime’s North has taken carriage of the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for February 20, 2019, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
The investigation is preliminary in nature and RCMP resources are expected to remain in the area for some time and the public is asked to avoid the area.
